I have been using this resource to teach sight words with my first graders, and honestly, it’s a game changer! I have never been fond of handing a student flashcards of sight words to memorize on their own. THIS resource has changed the game in my first grade class! We are decoding decodable parts of sight words, and talking about different rules like “ee” and “sh”, the parts of the word we need to memorize by heart for now. My kids are so engaged when we do these sheets everyday and they have gotten SO good at counting the phonemes, that they race ahead of me now and complete a lot of the task independently!
