Use it in the beginning of the year to see where my students were at as readers. Great resource. It has a similar structure as acadience reading so it prepares student with expose of the assessment structure if your school is using acadience. I just wish it can with a reading passage component, so student WPM and ability to retell can be assessed as well.

I am using these screeners as part of my diagnostic and data collection as a reading specialist. It has helped document students’ needs as well as gives me a clear starting point for intervention.
Alexandra T. –
This was very easy to use. Students are able to understand the task and it is easy for the teacher to screen and record data.

Great assessment to use at anytime of the year! Helps to zero in on a child’s knowledge of phonics.

This is really helpful when I am doing an informal screener on a student to get immediate feedback.

This is the perfect assessment to give a base line as to where students are in their phonics skills. It gives me a quick overview of where each student needs additional work.

Over the last two years my school has been revamping our reading and writing instruction, moving from balanced literacy to structured literacy. I have purchased many of Christina’s resources (and found a few freebies from her, too!) to try out and have loved them all! I have also joined her Leaders of Literacy group and I have found it very helpful! This time I came back for K-2 assessments and was not disappointed! I cannot thank Christina enough!
Christina –
Thank you so much for your kind words Mary! We are so honored to be your teammate and love to hear that the resources are helping you and your students!! -Christina

I have been looking for another phonics assessment that had a bit more to it than the one I use and this is wonderful. I love all of the different parts including spelling. I love the bundle where I can challenge students who are further ahead or also see what areas I need to support students. Thank you so much for a great resource!
