Teach Kindergarten students to spell with these Science of Reading-aligned, NO PREP, weekly Word Study Units.  This YEAR LONG word study resource includes a phonics scope and sequence, master word study list, word study practice activities, weekly assessments, editable templates, family letters and MORE!  It gives students practice with word recognition, vocabulary, phonics AND spelling!

Updated 8/23: Mini units added for grapheme ck, suffix -s, and double final consonants (FLOSS rule)

Word study units are different from traditional spelling units.  Instead of giving students a list of words to memorize each week, these word study units focus on a specific phonics skill.  Students are given explicit instruction on the phonics pattern and then have activities throughout the week that allow them to practice the phonics skill, and investigate and discover the patterns in words.

    I purchased this and i cannot print the entire file. It only printed parts. I also have a question about the rainbow tracing words. My file shows random letters to trace and not spelling words. Thank you for any help.

      Hi there, I am sorry you are having difficulty with the resource, I know technology can be so frustrating! Here are a few suggestions that I think will solve the problem. Make sure your Adobe reader is the most current update (online free). Also, make sure you have downloaded the file completely, saved the file on your computer before opening before trying to print.
