More About This Resource
This Sound Wall with Mouth Pictures & Sound Wall Locks is a comprehensive, Science of Reading-aligned tool designed to help students master phoneme awareness and phonics. Unlike traditional word walls, this sound wall organizes words by sounds (phonemes) rather than alphabetical order, providing students with a more effective reference when reading and spelling. I love this resource! I have my vowel valley and consonant wall on display in my room. My students love to “unlock” and learn a new sound. We refer back to our sound wall often and use mirrors to make sure that our mouths match the mouth pictures. This is a great resource. I also made a copy of the resource with multiples on a page (so it’s smaller) to make a matching card game or Go Fish/ Old Maid for my students to play and practice the sounds.

Love this product – it is important to educate yourselves with Christina’s sound wall videos or other videos on line so you are prepared to use this…once you learn about how to use it , then it truly transforms the way you teach. Honestly, using a sound wall is an wonderful tool and I’ve already seen incredible growth in my students as a literacy specialist. This product is very thorough and beneficial to have in your classroom!

I love the pictures of the mouth to display with the letter sound and a visual of things that start with that letter. Even the small size was fairly large and definitely requires some substantial wall space if you hang them all up together.
I am also planning on using them in my guided reading groups.
