Sequence Writing Prompts – Plant and Animal Life Cycles
My students are so successful at writing using these story sequence writing prompts! For this activity, writers use the 5 sequence picture cards to order events, then they can use the transition words and specific story vocabulary words to tell their story.

Included with each writing printable is a “Good Writers” editing checklist reminder at the bottom of the paper. I have also included a basic sight word list to post in your writing center to assist with those tricky words. These prompts naturally differentiate your writing center. Even my most emergent, timid writers shine using them!

I teach 3rd grade and this is just what I needed for my ELL students that need the picture support for writing about life cycles or steps in a process. I will use this in my writing intervention group so they can sort and organize the pictures and orally tell about each before they write 🙂 Thank you so much for creating this!

Loving to try this with my class. Our district is saying K kids need to write opinion or informative ONLY and want 8 sentences , which is crazy for some that didn’t know a letter on first day. Anyway, now they are writing and this will help guide them. THank you!

With a class full of non-English speaking friends, I think this will be a huge help with teaching life cycles- the pictures and prompts look very promising! Looking forward to using this!
