Word study units are different from traditional spelling units.  Instead of giving students a list of words to memorize each week, these word study units focus on a specific phonics skill.  Students are given explicit instruction on the phonics pattern and then have activities throughout the week that allow them to practice the phonics skill, and investigate and discover the patterns in words.

    Love this product! Can’t wait to use this next year! I wish there was an editable option for the number of words used on the test. We typically do 10 words and 2 challenge and use review words in the sentences. I think 16 words total is a lot for a second grader.
