Updated 8/23: Mini units added for grapheme ck, suffix -s, and double final consonants (FLOSS rule)
Word study units are different from traditional spelling units. Instead of giving students a list of words to memorize each week, these word study units focus on a specific phonics skill. Students are given explicit instruction on the phonics pattern and then have activities throughout the week that allow them to practice the phonics skill, and investigate and discover the patterns in words.

I absolutely love this spelling resource for my Kinder babies!! I have been looking for something like this for a very long time. Everything is organized with a pacing guide for the whole year by week with each spelling list and high frequency words. There are flash cards with the spelling words on them and worksheets that go with each list. A test sheet is included that changes each week with the list. Each spelling test has a section where the child has to read a sentence and find the 3 mistakes then write out the correct sentence. There is also a read and illustrate section on the test as well. You can also make your own spelling word list for your class with the editable resource that is offered. My kids are eager each week to get a new spelling list!

Excited to be able to incorporate this resource into the routine as students are transitioning back to a hybrid model.

This has been a LIFE SAVER!!! I usually create my own spelling words and practice, so it was so nice to find a resource that has it all and I don’t have to recreate the wheel!!!
The Simple Side –
This resource was perfect for my kiddos in kindergarten! It was easy to prep and plan! Thank you so much!

The editable worksheets are my go to. This helps with assigning homework geared to my sight words for the week.
