Teach Kindergarten students to spell with these Science of Reading-aligned, NO PREP, weekly Word Study Units.  This YEAR LONG word study resource includes a phonics scope and sequence, master word study list, word study practice activities, weekly assessments, editable templates, family letters and MORE!  It gives students practice with word recognition, vocabulary, phonics AND spelling!

Updated 8/23: Mini units added for grapheme ck, suffix -s, and double final consonants (FLOSS rule)

Word study units are different from traditional spelling units.  Instead of giving students a list of words to memorize each week, these word study units focus on a specific phonics skill.  Students are given explicit instruction on the phonics pattern and then have activities throughout the week that allow them to practice the phonics skill, and investigate and discover the patterns in words.

    There are many errors in this product. There are weeks that have one word on one worksheet, and the other worksheets that coincide have a different word. Example “mop” is switched to “map” , the card that should say “come”, says “com”. This has been happening with multiple weeks. I feel that I should be reimbursed because I am having to correct mistakes that I paid for.

      I am sorry that there were errors that my editor or I didn’t catch. I corrected the mistake on list 8. The sight words “will, be” have been changed on the word lists, word cards, and the year long word list. If you are truly unsatisfied with this yearlong program, you can inquire about a refund from TpT. Sorry for any inconvenience. ~Christina
