More About This Resource
The science of reading has proven that connecting phonemes (sounds) to graphemes (letters) aids students in the orthographic mapping process. This process allows students to permanently store words into their sight word memories. Using this resource, students will tap the sound they hear in a word and then map the graphemes that create those phoneme sounds.

Easy to use and engaging. I bound it into a booklet, so the ‘fold’ instructions don’t really match, but it’s no big deal.

Way to make a resource that goes with SoR and LETRS!!! I use this weekly as a worksheet to launch Word Work and I also display it in my Google Slides on the ProBoard while the class does a whole group phoneme tapping exercise.
Melissa Hamm –
These were perfect for my students still working on blending and decoding.

I am loving these pages in small group. I love how students are instructed to fold the page in half, so they must segment words without a word bank to label the pictures. I recommended these sheets to my colleagues. Thanks so much!

A great addition to my district’s state adopted Language arts program (journeys). My students feel very successful with mapping out their words as they learn to read. Ita great way to reinforce/teach blend sounds too.

Great resource! I’m not sure if pictures are supposed to be missing, but they aren’t all showing up in the pdf. I still think it’s a helpful resource.
